Need Mom Input for Babysitting Article

Calling all moms! Do you have any great tips for newbie parents on how to hire, instruct AND retain a quality babysitter? Any anecdotes about finding a fabulous babysitter (as in Mary Poppins), or do you have a nightmare babysitting experience to share (like the time you came home early and discovered your teeny-bopper babysitter spooning her crush on the couch while your toddler raided the pantry and ate an entire sleeve of Oreos)?
