The girls' Gaba (my mom) recently spent a few days with us. Because our guest room is also Madeline's room, our little jack-in-the-box actually stayed in her bed sleeping contentedly beside her Gaba. Dave said he missed having Madeline snuggled up next to him and told her this much.
Daddy: I've missed having you come sleep by me in the middle of the night.
Madeline: You needed your lovey?
Daddy: Who's my lovey?
Madeline: Maddy.
Thankfully, Daddy can once again rest easy as his 33-pound lovey is generally back in our bed by midnight.
