Stay Tuned...

I promise I'll be updating this blog more as we get more settled into our foursome. Like most new moms, I've been operating on very little sleep. Madeline still wakes up after three hours and often fights going to sleep at bedtime for a couple of hours. Rae is a sleeper - she seems to relish in snoozing much like I did so long ago. Yet, she suffers from reflux and begins to sound like Darth Vader unless I hold her upright all night long, which proves problematic since I'm not narcoleptic and need more comfortable sleeping conditions than sitting erect with curdled breastmilk spilling onto my PJs as my infant spits up her last meal on me. When Rae is quiet, it never fails: Madeline wanders into our room, crawls into her Nemo sleeping bag beside our bed and then begins to whimper. When Madeline drifts off, Rae starts her snorting, grunting and other guttural noises just before her nose and mouth erupts with milk. Needless to say, sleep has been a scarce commodity, so when I do have a free moment - like when we park the minivan in the driveway and both kids happen to be asleep and I can recline my seat for 15 minutes before I hear, "Mommy? We're home." or "Wa-Wa." - I don't even think of blogging. I close my eyes, start to drool and dream about sleep more than actually do it.

So, please, don't give up on me. Stay tuned to this blog. I'll be back...one of these days... (Oh, and if I make some gross grammatical error, chock it up to a sleep-deprived brain.)

Poor baby Rae... are you guys trying anything for her reflux? Is it bad enough to need medication?
