I caught Madeline "nursing" for the first time. After she finished feeding her baby I watched her change her diaper. "Big poopy!" she exclaimed. She proceeded to wipe her baby girl (front to back, of course) and then asked me for a clean diaper. Watching her imitate me was both fun and humbling. It made me realize that I am ALWAYS being observed and I must do my best to mother the way I hope Madeline will one day nurture her own children.
